I used to be a slow cooker kind of “chef.” I would throw in a bunch of ingredients, set it to low, and let it cook away while I went about my day. That is until I met the Instant Pot. This nifty little appliance has changed the way I think about cooking. Now, instead of spending all day waiting for dinner to be ready, I can have a delicious meal on the table in a fraction of the time. And there’s nothing I love more than a quick and easy meal – especially when it comes to pulled pork. With the Instant Pot, I can have succulent pork that falls apart with the touch of a fork in less than an hour. And trust me, it’s just as good as the slow-cooked variety – if not better. So if you’re looking for a way to speed up your meal prep, I highly recommend investing in an Instant Pot. You won’t be disappointed.
The Instant Pot is all the rage these days, and for good reason. It’s an incredible kitchen appliance that can pressure cook, slow cook, steam, sauté, and more. And it does all of this in a fraction of the time that it would take to do the same thing with a slow cooker. However, there is one downside to the Instant Pot: you have to wait for the pressure to build up before cooking. This can take up to 30 minutes, which can feel like an eternity when you’re hungry. But trust me, the wait is worth it. The Instant Pot can make some of the most delicious meals that you will ever taste. So if you’re looking for a quick and easy way to make dinner, the Instant Pot is definitely the way to go.
WHAT CUTS OF MEAT DO YOU USE FOR PULLED PORK?
There are several types of meat that can be used for pulled pork, including pork shoulder, pork butt, and pork loin. My personal favorite is pork loin because it’s often very affordable and easy to find at my local grocery store. However, all three types of meat will work perfectly for this dish. Simply choose the type of meat that you prefer or that is most readily available to you. No matter which type of meat you use, your pulled pork will be delicious!
CAN YOU FREEZE PULLED PORK?
Yes! If you’re like me, you hate wasting food. And yet, somehow, those leftovers always end up in the back of the fridge, slowly moldering away until they’re finally pitched. Well, I’m here to tell you that there’s a better way. With a little advance planning, you can freeze your leftovers and enjoy them later. Just put them in a freezer bag and pop them in the freezer. Then, when you’re ready to eat, simply take them out of the bag and wrap them in foil. That’s it! No more wasted food. And no more mystery meat for dinner.
HOW MUCH PULLED PORK DO YOU NEED PER PERSON?
Ah, the age-old question: how much pulled pork do I need to make for my party? The answer, of course, depends on a number of factors, including the appetite of your guests and the other dishes you’ll be serving. However, as a general rule of thumb, you should plan on serving six ounces of cooked pulled pork per person. Keep in mind that this is an average – some people may be hungrier than others, so it’s always good to have a little extra on hand. And remember, when cooking meat, the weight will decrease as water is released – so you’ll actually need to cook twice as much pork as you want to end up with. With all that said, the best way to really know how much food your guests will eat is to simply ask them. After all, nobody knows their appetite better than they do!
BBQ math can be tricky, especially when you’re trying to feed a large group of people. But if you follow a few simple tips, you’ll be sure to have enough food to go around. First, consider the size of your party and the amount of food each person is likely to eat. Then, figure out how much meat you’ll need to cook. For example, if you’re planning to serve pulled pork, you’ll need approximately six ounces of cooked pulled pork per person. Double it for uncooked calculations So for a ten-person party, you’ll need a total of sixty ounces cooked or one hundred and twenty ounces uncooked, or seven and a half pounds, of pork. Of course, this is just a general guideline – some people may want seconds, and others may not be as hungry as others. But following these simple steps will help ensure that there’s plenty of food for everyone at your party.
HOW TO PREPARE PULLED PORK
Cooking a big batch of meat is one of my favorite meal hacks. Not only does it make life easier during the week, but it also allows me to get creative with leftovers. For example, I love to pull pork from a large batch and then use the leftovers for meal prep or to make other dinners throughout the week. This way, I always have a delicious and healthy meal on hand, and I don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen cooking each night. Plus, it’s a great way to save money on groceries. So if you’re looking for an easy way to make your life simpler and your meals more delicious, try cooking a big batch of meat. You’ll be glad you did!
Why use Dr. Pepper for Pulled Pork
It may sound strange, but it is true. Dr. Pepper doesn’t taste at all like soda or pop, I swear. It has great caramelized sugar flavors and acidity, which are great for flavor balance and keeping the meat tender. I think the chipotles add a nice kick and the smokiness goes great with pulled meats like pulled pork or pulled beef. If you’re looking for a new soda to try, I highly recommend giving Dr. Pepper a chance. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
